June Selection

Hi Girls!

I know it's early but I wanted to let you know what book I have chosen for June. There are limited copies available (so far I have three), it doesn't look like the library has a copy yet. Anyway I wanted to give you all enough time to read the book before June so we could have a great discussion. I absolutely loved this book and I hope you all will too.

Here is the book. "The Brothers" by Chris Stewart, Volume 1-Prologue in The Great and Terrible series.

"The Choice You Make Will Drive Your Destiny"

A few things to think about as you read. Come prepared to share one discussion topic with the rest of us. It can be anything you choose, a character, a quote, a thought, something that has lingered on your mind, anything really. I will have a list of discussion items as well. I made notes as I read through it of things that stood out to me. I would also start by reading the 'Authors Note' at the begining, to help you understand his point of view.

Like I said I have access to 3 copies please let me know if you would like to get started on it. It is a quick read 208 pages. If you are ready to read it right now, because you're in a gap between books, give me a call.

Here's what is in the inside front cover of the book. I PROMISE this does not give away anything in the book.

"In the time before Creation, before so many of the children of God turned away from their Father and walked knowingly into the dark, there was a choosing, a sifting, a contest of ideas and a battle for souls. There could be only one plan and one Savior. The children of God had to make a choice. And thus did the great premortal war begin.

Brother fought brother. Families were torn apart. Some fought to protect their homes, their freedom and peace. Others fought to destroy everything they had once held so dear. And as the battle between good and evil touched every soul, all of God’s children had to chose which side they were on, which principles they would fight for, and what price they would pay.

In this contest before mortality, each of us learned the first lessons of life: The great ones may fall. The wicked can change. The weak and the foolish can become the strongest of all. The battle between good and evil is the same regardless of time and place."

Have fun and enjoy!
