Thanks, Vicki!

I think all of those who attended would agree that we had a thoughtful, fun night at Vicki's. Thank you so much, Vicki, for making sure we all got the book and had an inspiring discussion. You're the best!

6.4.08
For any of you "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" fans, I have just finished the Ann Brashares "adult novel" entitled The Last Summer (of you and me). If any of you would like to borrow it, please let me know!

Also, I have purchased The 5 Love Languages on Audio CD and would love to loan it to anyone who is interested. It is about 5 hours in length and is perfect for a summer road trip!

If anyone would like to borrow either of these, please let me know.

Look what I found in Cancun!

5.26.08
While eating at an amazing Crepe/Pasteria in Cancun, Mexico, I looked around at all of the other people eating. Our family looked to be the only tourists from America, until I looked behind our table. There was one couple that looked American, and low and behold, LOOK at what was laying across their table?!

The Stephanie Meyer's book ECLIPSE! Can you believe it? Justin thought I was insane, wanting a picture of them with their book, my mother-in-law and the other hand had the guts to ask them if I could take a picture. The woman in the picture actually didn't speak English, but her husband did and told me that the book was his daughters. I couldn't believe it and couldn't wait to post this picture on our book club blog!

As you may have already guessed, I was thinking of all of you while on our trip!

The Host

So Stephenie Meyers's new book The Host is out and I'm only in chapter 1 but IT IS WEIRD. It's for adults and really sci-fi-esque. My sister says its good if you can get through the first three chapters. Any made it that far yet?

June Bookclub

Hi girls,

Mark your calendar's for Tuesday June 10th at 7:00 p.m. for bookclub night! I'm really excited and hope you come and enjoy our discussion and of course munchies.

Just as a reminder here is the book. "The Brothers" by Chris Stewart, Volume 1-Prologue in The Great and Terrible series.

"The Choice You Make Will Drive Your Destiny"

A few things to think about as you read. Come prepared to share one discussion topic with the rest of us (maybe have two in mind in case yours has already been discussed). It can be anything you choose, a character, a quote, a thought, something that has lingered on your mind, anything really. I will have a list of discussion items as well. I made notes as I read through it of things that stood out to me. I would also start by reading the 'Authors Note' at the begining, to help you understand his point of view.

Let me know if you need a copy to read. I have been trying to find out who still needs a copy and circulating them as I find out. If you are one who hasn't received it yet, give me a call. The one at the library is finally in, but is still 'processing' hopefully I will get it soon.

Have fun reading!

May Book Club Approaching

I've not heard from most of you. So far I know of the following who are planning to come:
Erin (anyone mind carpooling with Erin who needs to make a stop in Boise going and coming to pick up children)
Natalie (hoping to carpool)
Viki (hoping to carpool)
Alyce (hopefully working out an early ride back, needs to leave around 7am)

Just a thought, when you end up carpooling remember the driver was kind enough to share their room and gas. Please help out with gas money if you plan to bum a ride.

Who's seen it?

Have to say the trailer for Twilight looks awesome!!! I was sketchy about Edward, but this kid really is good. Still up in the air over Bella.
