Reading Girls Get-a-way!
Alright! I thought I should put a notice out there for a few things in preparation for the May 16th - 17th get-a-way!
1. It's probably a great idea to carpool. I'll be going up early and so far Ann's coming with me. By early I mean like Friday morning, although we've not nailed an exact time yet. I've spoken with Erin and Natalie and they are planning to come but are both interested in carpooling. It might be a good idea to comment to this blog post about needing/wanting to carpool up and when. Remember we plan to start the discussion at our usual time, 7:00. So you'll for sure what to leave by 5:00 - 5:15ish to make it for that.2. Sleeping accomodations. I'm reserving the two bedrooms down stairs for mother's with babies. One room has a bunk and the other a queen. The downstairs is carpeted with plenty of floor space in the family room and Harry Potter Closet. The upstairs is all hard wood floors so bring a sleeping pad, air mattress, or cot along with your sleeping bag. There is plenty of floor space in the living room, den, and loft. I've got a electric air pump for mattresses as well.
3. Dinner will be waiting for you and also breakfast will be provided in the morning. I thought it would be great for everyone to bring their favorite treat to share for dessert.
4. If you want my number or my parents number just contact me and I'll give it to you. There is cell service up there.
Anything else I didn't cover PLEASE let me know! Looking forward to it!

June Selection
Hi Girls!

Brother fought brother. Families were torn apart. Some fought to protect their homes, their freedom and peace. Others fought to destroy everything they had once held so dear. And as the battle between good and evil touched every soul, all of God’s children had to chose which side they were on, which principles they would fight for, and what price they would pay.
I know it's early but I wanted to let you know what book I have chosen for June. There are limited copies available (so far I have three), it doesn't look like the library has a copy yet. Anyway I wanted to give you all enough time to read the book before June so we could have a great discussion. I absolutely loved this book and I hope you all will too.
Here is the book. "The Brothers" by Chris Stewart, Volume 1-Prologue in The Great and Terrible series.

"The Choice You Make Will Drive Your Destiny"
A few things to think about as you read. Come prepared to share one discussion topic with the rest of us. It can be anything you choose, a character, a quote, a thought, something that has lingered on your mind, anything really. I will have a list of discussion items as well. I made notes as I read through it of things that stood out to me. I would also start by reading the 'Authors Note' at the begining, to help you understand his point of view.
Like I said I have access to 3 copies please let me know if you would like to get started on it. It is a quick read 208 pages. If you are ready to read it right now, because you're in a gap between books, give me a call.
Here's what is in the inside front cover of the book. I PROMISE this does not give away anything in the book.
"In the time before Creation, before so many of the children of God turned away from their Father and walked knowingly into the dark, there was a choosing, a sifting, a contest of ideas and a battle for souls. There could be only one plan and one Savior. The children of God had to make a choice. And thus did the great premortal war begin.
In this contest before mortality, each of us learned the first lessons of life: The great ones may fall. The wicked can change. The weak and the foolish can become the strongest of all. The battle between good and evil is the same regardless of time and place."
Have fun and enjoy!

Tendra's directions
This is Rebecca, I am going to give directions to Tendra's home. MIND YOU, I took directions over the phone AS I was driving, and I tried to commit to memory the directions. So, here goes nothing, and I will take the blame if you all end up winding around the Bridgewater Subdivision all night long.
Driving on Greenhurst towards the Stake Center, Take a Lt. on Bridgewater.
At the "T" of Bridgewater and Brooklyn, take a Rt. on Brooklyn.
At the "T" of Brooklyn and Venecia (sorry about the spelling if it is incorrect!), take a Lt.
Venecia will wind around and eventually turn into Switzer (sorry again if the spelling is wrong!), and Tendra lives on the Rt. Hand side of Switzer.
Address: 4145 Switzer
Sounds like Tendra has really planned what to serve and talk about. Have a wonderful evening, I am sorry I will be missing it, my Grandparents from Salt Lake are in town once again!
